07 — The Letter

I went. I went back. I never really left.

This whole site is one letter, cut into chapters, to an island and to the people who were there with me.

2000

Impressed is too small a word.

I went to Ibiza in 2000. I was impressed. I fell in love with the island. That sentence is the seed. Everything else — Phoenicians, Alfredo, Privilege, the tax on tourism — grew around it because love without history is just a souvenir.

I went back in 2001 with my friend. We had an amazing time. Great memories. Great friends. I loved the music, the people, the energy, the vibes, the sunsets. If you were there in those years, you already know the rest. If you were not, this site is as close as I can place you without lying that you were.

A quiet finca in the pines, the island away from the poster.
The island I keep

If you were there

The wall is open.

Name, year, a few words. That lives on I was here now — with everyone else who kept a summer.
